To Avoid – Voyage into the past (Media/DJ Sampler Mcd)
This special DJ-promo up arrived to us before the official release of “Voyage into the past” planned for spring 2005. TA is a Berliner duo involved in the dark EBM scene. They compose a typical Teutonic electronic sound with dark melodies and distorted vocals. The 2 debut cuts are quite cliché and less attractive. Than comes the “Last resort”-song, dealing with another cliché… suicide! The original version is a bit more credible, while the remixes are more interesting. I personally like the “Suicide mix” by Maschinensturm, which has been more worked out and reinforced by some icy bleeps. The “Bitter fate mix” by Mortal void sounds a bit more industrial-like while Captive Of Society realized another acceptable remix. Cephalgy, which is probably the most familiar name on the list, did the last remix, which can’t totally convince me! This is a band that has to improve their production, but there’re for sure some interesting dark ideas running through their work.
